Lanzan Desafío Sostenible para universitarios en México

Mexico City – As part of the initiatives promoted by AES Mexico to seek and promote comprehensive solutions that make innovative and efficient use of renewable energies, the “Sustainable Challenge” is announced, an initiative that seeks the best Mexican university project that, through renewable energies, contributes to the socio-environmental transformation of the country.
In this Sustainable Challenge led by AES Mexico together with END Energy and Data, Socialab and DisruptivoTV, university students from all over the country can participate and in teams will be able to develop their ideas and projects in 4 different categories such as: Access to Energy, Economic Development, Environment and Emergency Aid.
Anel Abril Suárez, Senior Manager of External Affairs, Communication and Sustainability at AES Mexico, commented on this announcement, saying, “AES continues to lead the world’s transition to more sustainable energy. We seek to encourage the participation of new generations to accelerate the socio-environmental transformation in Mexico together.”
The call for proposals is open from January 21st to April 29th, 2022. Projects will be accepted during this period and evaluated by multidisciplinary experts. For his part, Javier Carrera, head of External Affairs and Social Impact, mentioned that, “youth is key to achieving the SDGs and the goals we have set for ourselves as a country. These initiatives challenge us to push the boundaries of what is possible, creating disruption in areas of social relevance, for the benefit of all Mexicans.”
The participation of undergraduate and graduate students from both public and private universities in different areas of specialization is expected, with the functionality, usefulness, scalability and originality of the solutions proposed by the students to meet the needs of social and economic development, biodiversity protection and support in natural disasters and emergencies in the country being rewarded.
In this way, AES Mexico, END Energy and Data, Socialab and DisruptivoTV are joining forces to accelerate the future of energy together.
